No Apologies: The Chat Show

Melbourne Town Hall - Cloak Room

No Apologies: Women in Comedy Claiming their Space, Finding their Voices and Telling their Stories is the debut book by journalist and comedian Joanne Brookfield. Featuring interviews with more than 50 women in comedy – including Denise Scott, Urzila Carlson, The Kates (McLennan and McCartney), Fiona O’Loughlin, Rachel Berger, Steph Tisdell – No Apologies is about the power of all women’s voices and creating the change we want to see in the world.

No Apologies: The Chat Show brings the book to life on stage, talking about issues it raises – which are relevant to all women, not just those working in comedy.

Hosted by Joanne Brookfield, The Chat Show has appeared previously at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe and included Judith Lucy, Jo Stanley, Geraldine Hickey, Anna Piper Scott, Sharon Johal and more as guests plus live performances from the Fringe Wives Club, Annie Louey and The Travelling Sisters as well.

Over three weekends, The Chat Show will present another diverse collection of hellcats – different guests each time – who will claim their space, use their voice and tell their story... and make no apologies for doing so.
